Alnardo Martinez, LMHC, is the Interim Director of the Pediatric OCD Intensive Service and a licensed mental health counselor in the Anxiety Disorders Center at the Child Mind Institute. With a warm and compassionate approach, Mr. Martinez is dedicated to helping children, teens, and young adults overcome anxiety-related challenges and build meaningful, fulfilling lives.

He has extensive experience treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety, selective mutism (SM), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), specific phobias, and pediatric acute-onset neuropsychiatric syndrome (PANDAS/PANS). As a Level 3 Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT) practitioner and a graduate of the International OCD Foundation’s Behavioral Therapy Training Institute (BTTI), he brings advanced skills to his work with clients, offering specialized care for those with treatment-resistant symptoms.

Mr. Martinez is passionate about delivering evidence-based treatments that empower kids and families. His toolkit includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy for Selective Mutism (PCIT-SM). Using his engaging style, he creates a supportive environment where children and adolescents feel safe to face their fears and develop lifelong coping skills.

Before joining the Child Mind Institute, Mr. Martinez worked at Rogers Behavioral Health, where he assessed children and adults with OCD, anxiety, mood, and eating disorders. There, he received specialized training in ERP and collaborated with leading psychologists in the field of child and adolescent OCD. Prior to joining the clinical team, he was part of the intake team, helping families navigate services and connect with the right support.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Mr. Martinez is committed to making high-quality mental health care accessible to diverse communities. His goal is to equip young people with the tools they need to thrive—whether at home, school, or out in the world.
