Dr. Schuster has been in practice at the Child Mind Institute since 2012. He specializes in evaluating and working with individuals struggling with issues related to ADHD, autism, and learning disorders. He also provides individual organizational skills support and writing remediation.
As the Director of Clinical Training since 2017, Dr. Schuster has worked to expand the training opportunities offered at the Child Mind Institute. As Director of Training Curriculum Development, Dr. Schuster is involved with the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Initiative (CAMHI), a nationwide mental health capacity-building program in Greece, exclusively supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). Through this work, he has co-led the development of several training programs, including mental health literacy training and mental health screening training, as well as the creation of comprehensive public education materials for the CAMHI website. Dr. Schuster has also been a collaborator on several published papers reporting the progress of these programs. Now, in the SNF Global Center for Child and Adolescent Mental Health at the Child Mind Institute, he continues to contribute to the development of new programs and partnerships with international collaborators.
Dr. Schuster is also an active speaker. He leads several parenting workshops and presents on a range of topics at schools and professional conferences. As a former middle school teacher, Dr. Schuster saw firsthand how psychiatric and learning disorders can be barriers to school success, motivating him to become a clinical psychologist. His experience in the classroom enables him to effectively translate test results into reports that provide children, parents, and teachers with practical, realistic, and individualized home- and school-based interventions and services.
